Happy 4th of July!!! God bless America!!!
Every year we look forward to this holiday as my kids love to watch fireworks especially at the ocean, aka beach along with pizza and drinks!!! But this year there was a change in the same old tradition we did for years, this year well, we didn’t miss the fireworks but experienced it in a totally distinctive way and fascinating place, yes fireworks at the Niagara Falls : a popular tourist attraction in North America!! Straddling the border between USA and Canada, Niagara Falls has the highest flow rate of any waterfalls in the world!! Niagara falls can be best visited from both the American and the Canadian side, and both have the best "get-up-close" to the fall activities that do require at least a day or two of your time.
We have been to American side Niagara falls multiple times, but this time we headed towards the Canadian side falls which are much bigger than the American falls. The Canadian side had the best views of the Falls also know as Horse shoe falls for its shape. No wonder it attracts millions of tourist every year and especially the crowd was humongous during the 4th of July.
We started early morning as it was a long 8 hour drive excluding the breaks for coffee and lunch. Hubby had already booked the best restaurant the Queen Victoria Place right in front of the falls so as to enjoy the view of the stunning falls along with the fireworks!!! After a long drive and crossing the Canadian border we directly headed to our hotel stone edge inn, which was one of a kind as well. We wanted to just get refreshed and head right to the falls but the comfort of the hotel after a long drive took longer than usual to get out and check the falls. Nevertheless, we did end up being late but still didn’t had to worry as we had the reservation for dinner along with live music and the stunning view of the falls plus the fireworks. It was almost dinner time, While at the queens Victoria place after going few rounds to find a parking spot we did get one and finally couldn’t wait to appease the hungry stomachs but after looking at the menu and Being Vegan we didn’t had much choice for our hungry belly's. All we ate was Ramen noodles and pasta for kids!!! However, even though it had really good reviews we didn't enjoy the food but rather the view, music and the fireworks. They have fireworks from 9 pm to 10 pm everyday during the month of July. The Falls were illuminated with bright red, blue and white on the American side, whereas the Canadian side had beautiful red and white!! No wonder it did look spectacular even at the night. Even though it was past bed time, the crowd and the atmosphere was one of kind where millions of people from around the globe just strolling and enjoying the beautiful falls. The best part of walking around is to feel the mist and the sounds of the water falls.
